Teriyaki Chicken Skewers

Teriyaki Chicken Skewers are a classic Japanese dish made of grilled chicken marinated in a flavorful teriyaki sauce. The chicken is threaded onto bamboo skewers and cooked over an open flame or on a grill. The result is a tender and juicy chicken with an irresistible caramelized glaze. Serve these skewers as an appetizer or as a main course accompanied by steamed rice, noodles or a side salad.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

Directions

  • Step 1
In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and pepper.
  • Step 2
Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight).
  • Step 3
Preheat an outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high heat.
  • Step 4
Thread the chicken cubes onto metal or wooden skewers, making sure to leave a little space between each piece.
  • Step 5
Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning once halfway through cooking, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly charred.
  • Step 6
Serve the skewers with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
