Indonesian Gado Gado
Indonesian Gado Gado is a popular vegetable dish that originated in Indonesia. Ingredients (2 Persons)
- 1 large head of Romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup of bean sprouts
- 1/2 cup of boiled potatoes, cubed
- 1/2 cup of blanched green beans
- 1/2 cup of blanched cauliflower florets
- 1/2 cup of boiled eggs, halved
- 1/4 cup of crushed peanuts
- 1/4 cup of diced red onion
- 1/4 cup of sliced cucumber
- 1/4 cup of fried tofu cubes
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon of minced fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon of tamarind paste
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Directions

Step 1
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add the tamarind paste, turmeric, coriander, sugar, and salt and stir to combine.

Add the potatoes, green beans, cauliflower, and red onion to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the lettuce, bean sprouts, eggs, peanuts, cucumber, and fried tofu to the skillet and toss to combine. Cook for 2 minutes more, until the lettuce is wilted and everything is heated through.

Serve the gado gado warm and top with more crushed peanuts, if desired.
