Chinese Lo Mein

Chinese Lo Mein is a popular and delicious dish originating from China. It typically consists of wheat egg noodles that are stir-fried with a variety of vegetables and meat, such as pork, beef, chicken, or shrimp. The noodles are cooked until they are soft and the vegetables are tender. The dish is usually seasoned with soy sauce, sesame oil, and other Chinese seasonings, giving it a distinct flavor. Chinese Lo Mein is often served with a side of steamed rice, and is a popular dish in many Chinese restaurants.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Directions

  • Step 1
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the lo mein noodles and cook until al dente, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
Drain the noodles and rinse with cold water to stop them from cooking. Set aside.
  • Step 3
Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes and cook briefly, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  • Step 4
Add the cooked noodles, soy sauce, and brown sugar to the skillet and toss to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the noodles are heated through.
