Tekka Maki Roll Sushi

Tekka Maki Roll Sushi is a type of Japanese sushi that consists of raw tuna and seaweed wrapped in a sheet of nori (dried seaweed). The tuna is usually lightly seasoned with soy sauce, wasabi, and/or other condiments. It is commonly served as an appetizer or a snack, and is often part of a sushi platter.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 2 cups short-grain sushi rice
  • 4 tablespoons sushi vinegar
  • 4 sheets nori seaweed
  • 4 ounces tuna, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Directions

  • Step 1
Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl. Sprinkle the sushi vinegar over the rice and fold it in until evenly distributed.
  • Step 2
Lay a sheet of nori on a sushi rolling mat. Wet your hands and spread 1/4 of the sushi rice over the nori. Arrange 1/4 of the tuna strips over the rice.
  • Step 3
Roll the sushi, using the mat to help you keep the roll tight. Wet the edge of the nori with a small amount of water to help seal the roll.
  • Step 4
Repeat with the remaining nori, rice, and tuna. Slice each roll into 6-8 pieces and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
