Chicken Tikka Masala Curry

Chicken Tikka Masala is an Indian-style curry that is popular throughout the world. Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Directions

  • Step 1
    In a medium bowl, combine the cubed chicken, yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, salt, and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (up to overnight).
  • Step 2
    Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat with the sauce. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Step 4
    Stir in the cream and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce is thickened. Taste and adjust salt and pepper if needed.
  • Step 5
    Garnish with cilantro and serve over rice or with naan.
