Tamago Sushi

Tamago sushi is a type of sushi roll made with a sweet omelette, also known as tamago, as the main ingredient. The omelette is rolled up, along with other ingredients such as rice and vegetables, and then sliced into individual pieces. Tamago sushi is a popular type of sushi in Japan and is often served at sushi restaurants and sushi bars. It is also a common item served at sushi parties and events.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 4 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 4 sheets of nori seaweed
  • 1/2 cup sweet omelet (tamago)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Directions

  • Step 1
    Place a sheet of nori seaweed on a flat surface and spread 1 cup of cooked sushi rice over the sheet.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar and mix until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Step 3
    In a separate bowl, mix together the sweet omelet and 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce mixture.
  • Step 4
    Place the sweet omelet mixture on the sushi rice and spread it out evenly.
  • Step 5
    Fold the nori seaweed in half, covering the filling, and press lightly to seal.
  • Step 6
    Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to make 3 more tamago sushi rolls.
