Negitoro Roll Sushi

Negitoro Roll Sushi is a type of sushi that is made with fatty tuna, or toro, and chopped scallions. The roll is then wrapped in a sheet of nori (seaweed) and rolled into a cone shape. The combination of the creamy, fatty tuna and the crunchy, savory scallion creates a unique and delicious flavor and texture. Negitoro Roll Sushi is a popular sushi item that can be found in many sushi restaurants, and enjoyed at home with sushi-making kits.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 1/2 pound fresh tuna, diced
  • 3 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 sheets of nori (dried seaweed)
  • 3 cups cooked sushi rice

Directions

  • Step 1
In a small bowl, combine the tuna and green onion. Drizzle the sesame oil over the mixture and stir to combine.
  • Step 2
Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo rolling mat. Wet your hands with a bowl of water and spread about 1/2 cup of sushi rice evenly over the nori.
  • Step 3
Place a few tablespoons of the tuna mixture in a line across the center of the nori. Roll the sushi up tightly, using the bamboo rolling mat to shape the roll.
  • Step 4
Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to make 3 more rolls. Cut each roll into 8 pieces using a sharp knife.
  • Step 5
Serve immediately with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
