Japanese Teriyaki Salmon

Japanese Teriyaki Salmon is a popular dish that originated in Japan. It typically consists of a salmon fillet marinated in a mixture of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar, and then grilled or broiled. The sweet and savory flavor of the teriyaki sauce makes this dish a favorite of many. It can be served with steamed rice, vegetables, or other cooked sides. The dish is also a great way to add some protein to your meal.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 4 (4-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Directions

  • Step 1
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, mirin, garlic, and ginger.
  • Step 2
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the teriyaki sauce over them. Turn to coat the salmon in the sauce.
  • Step 3
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until the salmon is cooked through.
  • Step 4
Transfer the salmon to a plate and spoon any remaining teriyaki sauce in the skillet over the top. Serve immediately.
