Fish Roe Roll Sushi

Fish Roe Roll Sushi is a type of sushi that is made with fish roe, usually salmon or trout, and is usually rolled in a sushi mat and served with soy sauce or wasabi. The fish roe, also known as fish eggs, are usually lightly salted and added to the sushi roll for a unique texture and flavor. Fish Roe Roll Sushi is often served as an appetizer or a side dish alongside other sushi dishes.

  • 2 tablespoons sushi vinegar
  • 1/4 cup fish roe
  • 4 sheets of nori (seaweed)
  • 4 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise

Directions

  • Step 1
In a small bowl, mix together the sushi vinegar and cooked sushi rice until evenly combined.
  • Step 2
Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat or clean surface. Spread a thin layer of the sushi rice on the nori, leaving a 1/2 inch border at the top of the nori.
  • Step 3
Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the sushi rice. Place 1 tablespoon of fish roe in a line across the center of the sushi roll.
  • Step 4
Gently roll the nori over the fish roe and continue rolling until the sushi roll is completely formed. Use the bamboo sushi mat to help tightens the roll.
  • Step 5
Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to make 3 more sushi rolls.
  • Step 6
Cut each sushi roll into 8 pieces. Serve with mayonnaise, if desired.
