Unagi Roll Sushi

Unagi Roll Sushi is a popular type of sushi roll that is made with freshwater eel. The eel is marinated in a soy sauce, mirin, and sugar mixture and then grilled until it is caramelized and slightly crispy. The grilled eel is then rolled up in sushi rice, seaweed, and cucumber. This is a delicious and unique sushi roll that makes a great lunch or dinner option.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 4 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 4 sheets of nori seaweed
  • 1/2 cup cooked unagi (eel)
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Directions

  • Step 1
    Lay out a sheet of nori seaweed on a bamboo sushi rolling mat.
  • Step 2
    Spread 1 cup of cooked sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving a 1/4-inch border at the top of the nori.
  • Step 3
    Turn the nori over so the rice side is facing down. Place 1/4 cup of cooked unagi in the center of the nori. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Step 4
    Carefully roll the nori up and over the unagi, using the sushi rolling mat to shape the roll. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 4 rolls.
