Malaysian Chicken Satay Skewers
Malaysian Chicken Satay Skewers are a popular Southeast Asian dish, traditionally consisting of marinated, skewered chicken pieces that are grilled over charcoal and served with a spicy peanut sauce. Ingredients (2 Persons)
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric

In a large bowl, combine the chicken, oil, salt, pepper, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, fish sauce, chili sauce, and turmeric.

Mix everything together until the chicken is evenly coated in the marinade.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight.

Soak 8-10 wooden skewers in water for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

Thread the chicken onto the skewers, about 4-5 pieces per skewer.

Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly charred.
