Tuna Maki Sushi

Tuna Maki Sushi is a type of sushi roll made with tuna and rice. It is typically wrapped in nori, a type of seaweed, and often served as an appetizer or part of a sushi platter. The tuna is usually raw, but cooked tuna can also be used. Tuna Maki Sushi can be made with different types of tuna such as albacore, yellowfin, or bluefin. It is often flavored with soy sauce and mayo and garnished with sesame seeds, scallions, or other ingredients.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 1 (8.8-ounce) can tuna, drained
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 4 nori sheets
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Directions

  • Step 1
In a small bowl, combine the tuna, mayonnaise, and sriracha sauce (if using). Mix until combined.
  • Step 2
Lay a nori sheet on a cutting board and spread 1/2 cup of the cooked sushi rice evenly across the surface of the nori, leaving a 1/2-inch border on the edges.
  • Step 3
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the sesame seeds over the rice. Flip the nori sheet over so that the rice side is facing down.
  • Step 4
Spread 1/4 of the tuna mixture over the nori sheet, leaving a 1/2-inch border on the edges.
  • Step 5
Roll the nori sheet up tightly, starting from the bottom and rolling towards the top. Place the sushi roll seam-side down and cut into 8 pieces. Repeat with the remaining nori sheets and ingredients.
