Tuna and Cucumber Roll Sushi

Tuna and cucumber roll sushi is a type of sushi roll that combines two classic flavors in one delicious dish. This type of sushi roll features fresh tuna and crisp cucumber slices tucked inside a nori-wrapped sushi roll. It is often served with a variety of other accompaniments such as wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger. Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 2 (6-inch) sheets of nori (dried seaweed)
  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cucumber, peeled and cut into thin strips

Directions

  • Step 1
    Cut each sheet of nori in half lengthwise.
  • Step 2
    Lay each piece of nori on a sushi mat, rough side up. Spread a thin layer of cooked rice on each piece of nori.
  • Step 3
    In a small bowl, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix until the sugar and salt have dissolved.
  • Step 4
    Spoon the tuna onto the rice-covered nori. Top with the cucumber strips. Drizzle with the vinegar mixture.
  • Step 5
    Starting at one end of the mat, roll the nori and rice up into a cylinder, using the mat to shape the roll.
  • Step 6
    Once the roll is tightly formed, use a sharp knife to cut the roll into 1-inch pieces.
