Pad Thai

Pad Thai is a popular dish in Thailand, made from stir-fried rice noodles with eggs, tofu, and a variety of other ingredients such as peanuts, bean sprouts, and tamarind sauce. It is usually garnished with lime wedges, crushed peanuts, and chilis. Pad Thai is often served as a main dish at both Thai restaurants and food stalls, and is also a popular street food in Thailand.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 8 ounces dried rice noodles
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Directions

  • Step 1
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook until tender, about 4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the eggs and cook, stirring constantly, until scrambled.
  • Step 3
Add the cooked noodles, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the noodles are heated through.
  • Step 4
Garnish with green onions, cilantro, peanuts, and lime wedges, if desired.
