Miso Salmon

Miso Salmon is a popular Japanese dish that consists of salmon marinated in a miso sauce and then broiled or grilled. The miso sauce is made from a blend of miso (fermented soybean paste), sake, mirin (rice wine), and sugar, which is then cooked together until thickened. The salmon is brushed with the miso sauce and then broiled or grilled until cooked through. Miso Salmon is a savory, sweet, and umami-packed dish that is great served with steamed rice and vegetables.

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 4 (4-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup white miso
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons black sesame seeds

Directions

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Step 2
Combine the miso, honey, mirin, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small bowl. Stir until the mixture is well blended.
  • Step 3
Place the salmon fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush each fillet with the miso mixture and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
  • Step 4
Bake the salmon for 10-15 minutes, until it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

This miso salmon is unbelievable! I used light miso, honey and garlic and the flavor combination was incredible! The salmon itself was cooked perfectly - buttery, juicy and flaky! A definite keeper in my meal repertoire.
