Indian Butter Chicken

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
- 1/3 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger root
- 2 tablespoons garam masala
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the chicken, yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and pepper. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the marinated chicken, and cook until the chicken is no longer pink, about 10 minutes.

Stir in the tomatoes and cream. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
