Crispy Tofu Stir-Fry

Crispy Tofu Stir-Fry is a delicious and nutritious dish that combines tofu with a variety of vegetables, spices, and sauces. The tofu is pan-fried to a golden crisp and then combined with a variety of fresh vegetables, such as bell peppers, carrots, onions, and mushrooms. Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 1 block extra firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

  • Step 1
    Cut the tofu into cubes, and place it onto a paper-towel lined plate. Sprinkle the tofu lightly with salt and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.
  • Step 3
    Add the bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften.
  • Step 4
    In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
  • Step 5
    Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the tofu and stir to combine.
  • Step 6
    Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the vegetables are tender.
