Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken, cut into 1-inch cubes

Directions

  • Step 1
    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add the garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cayenne pepper, and salt and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Step 3
    Pour in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 4
    Add the heavy cream and chicken cubes and simmer for 10 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Step 5
    Serve the chicken tikka masala over cooked rice or with naan bread.
