Chinese Sweet and Sour Pork

Chinese Sweet and Sour Pork is a popular Chinese-American dish made with pork, bell peppers, and pineapple in a sweet and sour sauce. Ingredients (2 Persons)

  • 1 1/2 pounds pork tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Directions

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, toss the pork cubes with the corn starch, until the cubes are evenly coated.
  • Step 2
    Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork cubes and cook, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown on all sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside. Add the bell peppers to the skillet and cook until they are tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    In a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, ketchup, sugar, and soy sauce. Pour the mixture over the bell peppers in the skillet and bring it to a simmer.
  • Step 5
    Add the pork cubes back to the skillet and stir to coat them with the sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded together.
